The following story was shared with me in a college class years ago. Unfortunately, I do not know the original author, but I wanted to share it with you. Have fun reading it.
THE KINGDOM OF KAY OSS
Once in the land of Serenity, there ruled a king called Kay Oss. The king wanted to be liked by all his people.

The story was provided in my class to illustrate how we recognize words based on context. That’s how we know most of the words in the story even though they aren’t spelled correctly. What I thought was of greater significance is the moral of the story. When we opt for no government – no laws and rules - the result is chaos.
I was prompted to share the story with you by a quote in the news from an Atlanta minister. He said, "Every generation has to decide what a wholesome example is."
It’s a simple statement, but it represents a profound shift in thinking (and theology) that has taken place over the last couple of centuries. Here is a minister saying that what is right and respectable will change from time to time – that it is to be determined by popular opinion in each generation.
Do you notice a different thinking in the apostle Peter’s theology? He reminded us that people come and go, “but the word of the Lord stands forever" (1 Peter 1:25). Consider, too, the words of Proverbs 16:25: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
Abandoning timeless rules provided by God to follow the whims of our own generation is a dangerous path, one that leads us toward Chaos’ kingdom.
